Fida - ''Fiume Istria Dalmazia Archivi'' and Sida - ''Serenissima Istria Dalmazia Archivi'' are two research projects of Società dalmata di storia patria (Dalmatian society dealing with homeland history) concerning the archival fonds currently preserved in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, produced by peoples and institutions, first Venetian, then French, Austrian, Hungarian and eventually Italian, active in Venezia Giulia and Dalmatia: an area with no own specific unity but nevertheless crossing its parts in a historic and geographic continuity, thus creating a vast, mixed and scattered Italian cultural region (not only Italian, of course).
